There are ups and downs, moments of doubt, and maybe even a few tears along the way. (Especially when you're a single mom starting with just $4500 and a dream, like I was! 😅)

The Early Days: A Rollercoaster of Emotions
When I first started my massage practice back in 2010, I was full of passion and excitement. But I quickly realized that being a massage therapist and being a business owner were two very different things. I had no idea how to market my services, manage my finances, or even create a consistent schedule.
I made a lot of mistakes in those early years. (Like that time I ran a Groupon and ended up giving 3,000 massages for practically nothing! 🤦♀️) I was overworked, underpaid, and constantly feeling burnt out.
But I was determined to make it work. I invested in business courses, sought out mentors, and slowly but surely, I started to figure things out.
The Turning Point: Embracing My Inner Entrepreneur
The biggest shift happened when I realized that I needed to embrace my role as a business owner, not just a massage therapist. I started to learn about marketing, finances, and client retention. I invested in myself and my business, and I gradually built a thriving practice.
The Joy of Helping Others
As my business grew, I discovered a new passion: helping other massage therapists achieve their dreams. I started teaching business courses and offering coaching services, and I found immense joy in empowering others to create successful and fulfilling careers.
Lessons Learned Along the Way
Here are a few key lessons I've learned throughout my journey:
- Know your worth: Don't be afraid to charge what you're worth. Your skills and time are valuable.
- Focus on your ideal client: Get clear on who you want to serve and tailor your marketing to their needs.
- Build a strong online presence: Your website and social media are your digital storefront. Make them shine!
- Create systems and automate: Streamline your operations to save time and reduce stress.
- Prioritize self-care: You can't pour from an empty cup. Take care of yourself so you can take care of your clients.
